For one, the Ostrich is the world's largest domesticated bird, vertically speaking, and when they get on the scales. They have been known to reach heights of nine feet or more, and have the longest legs of any living species of bird. Although to be strictly fair, the black-winged stilt with legs of nine inches, has a larger leg to body proportion, with theirs being 60% of their overall height. The Ostrich however, outweighs all opponents, tipping the scales at up to 345 lbs., a tad large for roasting at Thanksgiving. Another plus is the size of their eggs- an average 7 x 4.5 inches. That's quite an omelet, but an anomaly in the ratio department again, because it is the smallest egg of any bird, when compared to their body weight, being only 1.5%.

Of course, you'd have to catch it first to do anything with it. And that's a pretty dicey proposition in itself, since an Ostrich has been clocked running at 97.5mph. Then when you meet up with one, you'll have to stare it down, likely from below. And that won't be any piece of cake either, because the Ostrich has the largest eyeball of any bird species.
