| Whatever Happened To Singer Sinead
O'Conner
Remember the popular UK singer Sinead O'Connor
who had the weird short hairdo? Sinead O'Connor was born in
Dublin, Ireland on December 8th 1967. She moved to London in 1985
where she started her musical career.
O'Conner first came onto the music scene
in 1987 with her first album title "The Lion and the Cobra", which sold
well domestically. This was followed by the album "I Do Not Want
What I Haven't Got," which included the smash hit and what she is probably
known best for recording or "Nothing Compares 2 U."
In 1993 Sinéad moved back to Dublin
and enrolled for singing lessons at the Parnell School of Music.
Recently, Sinéad has been working
with Massive Attack, Moby and Conjure One. She will soon be heard
on the new albums to be released by these various artists. This is
the first time in two years that the politically active singer will be
releasing various songs.
O'Connor, 34, has two children from two
separate fathers. Her son Jake, 13, was born during a previous marriage
to drummer John Reynolds. A relationship with Irish Times columnist John
Waters produced her second child, 5-year-old daughter Roisin.
Recently O'Conner accepted a marriage proposal
from Nick Sommerlad, a Dublin-based correspondent for Britain's Press Association.
They hope to tie the knot in the summer
of 2003. |
