| Whatever Happened To Singer Sheena
Easton?
Born Sheena Shirley Orr in Scotland on
April 27, 1959, Sheena was the youngest of six children (two brothers,
Robert and Alex and three sisters, Marilyn, Annessa, and Morag).
Sheena's father died when she was only ten and her mother worked as a labourer
to support the family.
Sheena decided to pursue a singing career
after seeing the movie T"he Way We Were" starring Barbara Streisand at
a local movie theatre. She was so moved by Streisand's voice that
she wanted to have the same impact on people.
She married Sandi Easton in 1979, but the
marriage only lasted 8 months. Sheena decided to keep the last name
and would be known as Sheena Easton.
In the same year, a show "The Big Time"
was looking for a relative unknown in order to film a documentary following
his/her career throughout the process of becoming a pop star.
Sheena went and was immediately casted
as the relative unknown. Her talents won her an audition for EMI
Records.
The rest is history.
In her career, she came out with big hits
such as "Modern Girl", "Morning Train" and "We've Got Tonight" (with Kenny
Rogers) and "U Got The Look" (with Prince).
In 1987, she also guest starred on the
hit TV show Miami Vice, portraying Caitlin Davies, Sonny Crockett's wife.
The ratings were so good that the producers asked her to return for five
more episodes.
Well what has see been up to since?
She had made a cameo appearance in the
movie "Indecent Proposal" and was the voice of the Irish setter in the
animated film, "All Dogs Go To Heaven 2.".
She had been releasing albums during the
mid 1990's that did very well in Japan and other countries oversea.
She has two adopted children, son Jake, 10 and daughter Skylar, 8.
In 2000, she settled in Las Vegas with
her children and had a regular Hilton show to strut her new stuff.
She liked doing the shows because it gave her the opportunity to go home
at night and be with her kids. She also co-starred with David Cassidy
in a Broadway style show at the Rio Hotel.
She is still performing shows at the Hilton
in 2003, but it will only be part-time. |
