| Whatever Happened To Actress Pam Dawber
(Mindy from Mork and Mindy)?
Pam Dawber is best known for her role as
Mindy in the hugely successful 1970's sitcom "Mork and Mindy", which also
starred comedian Robin Williams.
Dawber was born on October 18th, 1951 in
Detroit, Michigan. Her career first started in Detroit where she
did a bit of modeling. Dawber got her big break when she followed
a friend to New York City and ended up signing an exclusive contract with
one of the top modeling agencies in New York.
Dawber appeared in many magazines and television
commercials, but she was convinced that she wanted to become an actress
rather than a model.
Dawber went to acting school and started
doing theatre work. She got her big break when she signed a deal
with ABC-TV to be the female lead in "Mork and Mindy." This catapulted
Dawber to instant success. Dawber's performance earned her two People's
Choice Awards.
What has she been up to since the show
went off the air?
Dawber continued to do work on TV through
the 80's and 90's and did guest starring roles on The Twilight Zone (1985),
The Little Mermaid (1987) and Man In Black (1998).
She also starred in the movies such as,
Do You Know the Muffin Man? (1989), Stay Tuned (1992), The Man With Three
Wives (1993),
A Child's Cry for Help (1994), A Stranger
to Love (1996). Dawber was also the voice of Perdy in 101 Dalmatians:
The Series (1997) and Cameras Rolling: 20 Days on Set (2000)
She also co-starred in and co-produced
the short-lived sitcom "Life...And Stuff" (CBS, 1997).
So as you can see, she has kept herself
quite busy!
Dawber is married to actor Mark Harmon
(Chicago Hope) and they have two children. |
