| Whatever Happened To Actress Molly
Ringwald?
One of the most famous stars of the 80's
was actress Molly Ringwald. Born on February 18, 1968 in Roseville
California Molly became a star at a very young age. She played the
dormouse in a stage production of "Alice in Wonderland," and also came
out with her very own album by the age of six, called "I Wanna Be Loved
By You, Molly Sings." She also got a place on television by being
part of the "New Mickey Mouse Club" when she was eight.
From then on Ringwald got parts in many
blockbusters. Her first big break was "Annie" when she was 10 years
old. One of the biggest movies that Molly Ringwald starred in was
John Hughes "Sixteen Candles" in 1984 where she played a girl who turns
sixteen and her parents forget her birthday, and the guy she has a crush
on doesn't even think she exists. Her success continued the following
year with the 1985 movie "The Breakfast Club, and "Pretty in Pink" in 1986.
From then on her movies did not seem to do as well. It seemed people
did not want to see her in mature roles. In the 90's, some of the
movies she starred in were "Strike It Rich" in 1990, and "Face the Music"
in 1993.
In 1996 Molly Ringwald decided to star
in a TV sitcom called "Townies." The sitcom seemed to do well, but
unfortunately got cancelled shortly after that. Since then Ringwald
has appeared in many movies, and TV shows but none have been as successful
as the movies from the mid 80's.
In 1999, Ringwald married Valery Lameignere,
whom she had been seeing for a while. She still continues her acting
career and made a cameo appearance in the comedy "Not Another Teen
Movie," which came out in 2001. Also in 2001 she starred in the Broadway
musical "Cabaret," which did quite well. In 2002, Ringwald starred
in the TV series "The Big Time" which also stars Christopher Lloyd.
Most recently, Ringwald had filed for divorce
in November of 2002 from her husband Valery who she had been living with
in Bordeaux, France. |
