Kelly McGillis is best known for her role in the blockbuster movie "Top Gun."  She started her acting career by starring in the 1983 movie "Reuben, Rueben."  She was still a student at this time.  McGillis had a very traumatic experience before her acting debut.  She was raped by two men in her own apartment in Brooklyn.  

This experience was obviously very disturbing to her and she had to go through therapy.  Since the rape had a great impact on her, she looked forward to starring in the movie "The Accused," in 1988.  In this movie she played a lawyer defending a victim of rape.

Kelly McGillis has two daughters named Kelsey and Sonora. McGillis now lives in Florida with her husband Fred Tillman who is a yacht broker.  She recently starred in the movie "At First Sight," playing Val Kilmer's sister.  She also has her own restaurant in Florida called "Kelly's Caribbean Bar, Grill & Brewery."
