Actress Kathleen Turner was born Mary Kathleen
Turner in Springfield Missouri on June 19, 1954. Her father Richard
Turner was a diplomat and Kathleen was a gymnast when she was a teenager.
She started her acting career in 1978 where
she had a small part in a TV series called "The Doctors. She appeared on
that for one year. After that her breakthrough movie was "Body Heat"
in 1981.
The movie that really got her noticed was
"Romancing The Stone" starring Michael Douglas in 1984. She also
got an Oscar nomination for the movie "Peggy Sue Got Married," where she
played a housewife. She did many movies after that, and also was
the voice of Jessica Rabbit in the 1988 movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."
The recent movies that Turner has done
are "Beautiful" starring Minnie Driver and "Prince of Central Park."
She is presently married to Jay Weiss and has one daughter named Rachel
Ann. In 1999, she had some trouble with alcohol and checked herself
in for alcohol abuse.
Kathleen Turner also suffers from rheumatoid
arthritis and in November of 2002 did a live chat on the Arthritis Foundation
website.
The most recent appearance Turner has had
has been in March 2003 where she was with Robert Vaughn for one week at
