| Whatever Happened To Model Fabio
Remember Fabio, the male model, who used
to grace the cover of millions of romance novels? In the early 1990's,
Fabio rose to great popularity as a male model and was well known for his
long blonde locks and large physique.
Fabio was born on March 15, 1961, in Milan,
Italy. His father always wanted Fabio to take over the family business,
but became quite distressed to learn that Fabio wanted to be a male model.
Following a friend's advice, he packed moved to the United States where
he became a model for GAP ads and many sportswear designers. Unfortunately
for the 6'3 macho man, he will probably be most remembered for being hit
in the face by a 15 lb goose, while riding a roller coaster during a publicity
appearance.
And what did his manager have to say about
it:
"Can you imagine if his mouth was open?"
Fabio has since moved on from that near
fatal experience (sadly the goose did not survive) and now runs his own
film production company specializing in animation. Fabio also made
cameo appearances in the movies, "Dude, Where's My Car," Zoolander," and
"Bubble Boy."
None of those movies were blockbusters.
(Surprise!)
Fabio tries to lead a private life (the
rollar coaster incident sisn't help), and is an avid collector of motorcycles.
He actually has over 125 motorcycles. Contrary to popular misconceptions
of male models, he is not gay. :) He is still waiting for that special
girl. |
