this is a common misconception and i hope everyone reads this comment. VINCENT VAN GOGH HAD EPILEPSY. HE SHAVED WITH A STRAIGHT RAZOR AND ONE DAY HAD A SEIZURE WHILE HE WAS SHAVING. WHILE ENDURING THE ATTACK, HE ACCIDENTLY CUT OFF HIS EAR. HE DID NOT SEND IT TO ANYONE.
