hello all, one night on tv i saw a documentary about the romans. in one particular street in one particular city ( i think it was pompeii) there were open shops into the street. the keeper if he baked he did it in front of you.it was here that the narrator told us that the baker rolled the meat in front of you. then he cooked and then put it into some bread and you ate it. this could have been the first burger.thanks to all. see what you think. harry from the uk
