A 27 year old heir to a sausage empire was handed a ticket for 116,000 pounds for driving at 80 km/hr in a 40 km/hr zone. This is because the speeding tickets in Finland are based on how much money a person makes.

By Pat_Migroin 284 Days AgoNothing like socialist thinking. I cant make anything out of myself, so I am going to leach off of those who can. Thats why I pay taxes to keep up the welfare mommas. This is crap. You dont charge based on income. That is not fair and it is extortion.
By freelancejan 679 Days AgoWonder what they charge the unemployed. Jeeze.
By nack_100 679 Days AgoThats sooooooo not fair. Does that mean that if someone had no money then they would not be fined?? (interesting)
By JaneLane 679 Days AgoSomeone asked, what happens to a person who is unemployed: There is also a minimum ticket (don't remember the price), but if you cannot pay for it, you can "pay" it in prison (one day as prisoner pays 30 euros out of your ticket or sumthing like that).
By Anonymous 679 Days AgoIts about time! People with outstanding incomes have sometimes earned it - yes . However - its time that people of all incomes pay their fair share. Do the crime - do the time! right?
