Not true we do have technology today but not years ago you would need radiation too see through clothes but also the tissue of a living body as well which would kill the user of the camera so this is a myth

It is true. These camcorders had a night vision setting. During the filming of a college project using this model, we were able to see through to undergarments of people on camera. Quite amusing if you were the one behind the camera.

This is true but not accurate. Sony did not accidentally sell these cameras. They simply sold camcorders with night vision. It was later that using a UV filter and activating the night vision mode during the day allows the camera to pick up light waves that permeate clothing and bounce off the skin rather than the clothes; thus seeing though the person's clothing. Again, this only works if done during daylight with a UV filter, the night vision mode activated, and thin clothing. It will not see through heavy clothing or coats. Once Sony learned of this function they made their camera?s so the night vision mode can only be activated in the dark; thus disabling the ability to see through clothes in the daylight. However, there are many people that hack their cameras in order to bypass this safeguard.

You would think that the people testing the cameras would be able to tell if they would be able to see through clothes. They would have to test them on people and surrounding scientists and things.

Not sure if it is true or not. Yes, there has to be radiation but there is now new technology that allows an x-ray to see through clothes but not skin.
