By Pat_Migroin 87 Days AgoI got tobasco and chiclets in all my MRE's. The truth is you need tobasco to get the crap down, and the chicklets actually have something in them to regulate you so you do not get constipated from the dehydrated rations.
By jester23 241 Days AgoAlthough Tabasco is used in MRE's, I have never known it to be in more than half of them. I realize it has been 12 years since I ate them but it was considered a "FIND" when you came across it. We would always save items from different MRE's to put together with other meals to make them better.
They could have started putting them in all of them for all I know. Gum is the same. I never received Chiclets in all of my MRE's.
By MR.B 386 Days AgoIts the truth. i live in southern USA after the hurricane katrina. I had to eat MRE [ meals ready to eat ] every day . They all had little mini tabasco bottles in them. along with 2 little squares of gum.
By Anonymous 386 Days AgoChewing gum is also in every ration, and MRE issued. The gum is to encourage salivation. The Tabasco sauce is to prevent constipation from the dried/high calorie MRE's. (Ret'd Special Forces)
By sam.anderson2 386 Days AgoTabasco sauce is featured in only about one in three meals, chili flakes or seasoning mix (resembling Mrs. Dash in the ingredients included) is included in the others. He's right about the gum though.
